STEP 2: CHOOSE YOUR TOP
Now, we will reveal the trick over here. Contrary to popular belief, rectangle watches are not the same as square watches. While square watches can be flexible for both formal and casual, a rectangle watch leans towards formal. Therefore, take this opportunity to dress up by wearing a collared shirt. Now, you may ask me, is it okay if I go for a short sleeve instead of a long-sleeve? Sure, it doesn’t matter. For added sophistication and elegance, try tucking in your shirt.

STEP 3: CHOOSE YOUR BOTTOM
Now, because we are not going to work, slacks will be too formal. Instead, you can choose more casual pants like chinos. Chino’s while still being casual pants, still maintains a very elegant look. In fact, it is hard to differentiate with slacks, provided you pick the right color. Instead of the usual dust color, try to opt for a darker shade of chinos instead. Do you want more tips to add elegance? Try adding pleats on the front. Oh, be sure to always wear a skinny fit or slim fit, with low tapered from the knee onwards.

STEP 4: CHOOSE YOUR SHOES
Of course, this is one of our favorites sessions. After choosing the top and bottom, you must then choose your shoes of course. Now, since we are already going for smart formal, oxford shoes will match really well with the top and bottom. If you think that oxford is a bit too formal, go for less formal shoes like derbies. However, there are also casual oxford shoes, like wingtip oxfords.

STEP 5: CHOOSING YOUR ACCESSORIES
Now, since our general outfit is smart casual/ formal, it can be quite tricky to accessorize. However, you can still accessorize, just do it minimally. One tip is to replace your boring wallet, with a leather clutch wallet. Make sure to buy those with a handle where you can slip your whole hand in there.
