First, we will be talking about the material of the watch. The round case and the case back is made from stainless steel. The case back has a center to slide the crystal glass to see the automatic movement. On top of that, this watch is using sapphire crystal glass for the front of the watch. Sapphire crystal glass is one of the most durable and toughest grades of crystal as it is 3 times more scratch-resistant than regular mineral glass. Lastly, stainless steel is also used for the metal bracelets as well.

The Orient Sun & Moon uses the Japanese automatic movement caliber F6L24. One of the characteristics of the cal. F6L24 is that it is a regular 3-hand automatic movement. Besides that, the cal. F624L has 22 jewels and vibrates at 21,600 beats per hour. Other features of the caliber include the sun-moon phase at the 6 o’clock position. This sun-moon sub-dial will rotate and display whether it is AM or PM, therefore you can call it an AM: PM indicator. On top of that, this movement features also a hacking mechanism. The hacking mechanism means that you can stop the time when you adjust the crown.

Below are the dimensions of the watch. The watch has a case diameter of 42 mm from the 3H:9H and 6H: 12H. On top of that, it also features a 22 mm lug width which houses a stainless steel bracelet. The stainless steel bracelet is replaceable with a 22 mm wide genuine leather strap as well. On top of that, the watch also boasts water resistance level up to 50 m.

Finally, we have come to our favorite part of the series, describing the watch aesthetic. One of the first things which attracted us to this watch is the sun-moon sub-dial at 6 o’clock. It is basically a round sub-dial with a semi-circle sun and semi-circle moon rotating s the days pass by. It even has the wording “Sun & Moon”. Besides that, we can also see the semi-skeletonized view of the spring balance and the jewels on the 9 o’clock dial.

All of the semi-skeleton view and the sun-moon sub-dial is located with a black dial. On top of that, the silver-colored roman numerals are used as the index markers for the minute indicator, especially for the 12 and 3 o’clock position. The rest of the position is using normal index markers. Furthermore, it has a very nice silver tone leaf style hands which complement the index markers as well.
