Ramadan Kareem to all our Muslim readers who has already begin fasting today. As for the rest of us as well, welcome back to week 7 watch of the week series. Today, we are going to look at one of Citizen’s Eco-drive perpetual calendar men’s watch.
The Citizen watch comes with stainless steel round case and case back. On top of that, the case sports a rose-gold coating for more elegant feel and look.

Furthermore, to secure the watch and movement to the hand, Citizen used a brown color genuine calfskin leather strap. For extra details, they added contrast white color stitching to give the strap more character.

The diameter of the round rose-gold stainless steel case is 44 mm from 3 o’clock to 9 o’clock and from 6 o’clock to 12 o’clock respectively. To top it off, the case thickness is 13 mm from the case back to the crystal. The features strap is 23 mm in width and 8 inches in length from one end of the tail to the other end of the buckle side.
Firstly, if you want a watch that blends with the background, don’t buy this watch. However, if you are the type that shows off and like to gain attention, this is a watch for you.

As mentioned, you can notice the rose-gold case which compliments the brown/ tan color leather strap. On top of that, the black dial mixed with the rose-gold index markers and hands is a wonderful contrasts.

For additional value, the hands, both the main and sub-dial hands have luminous fills for glow in the dark watch telling. One of the unique features of this watch is the world time indicator on the most outer ring of the dial, which is corresponding to each cities as shown by their short-form.

The best part? You can set the world time accordingly just by taking one time in one city as the reference. All you just need to do is to rotate the inner ring on the dial.
This watch is equipped with Citizen’s signature Eco-drive caliber 8729. For your information, this is a Japanese quartz movement, but without batteries. Instead, the Eco-drive uses a solar cell underneath the dial, which is not visible to the naked eye.

So all you have to do is to charge the solar cell either with natural sun-light or artificial light. The light energy will be stored in the solar cells and converted to electrical energy.
Additionally, the caliber 8729 features a day, date and 24-hour indicator, besides the main 3-hand movement of a regular quartz movement.
Other extra features of this watch is the beautiful butter-fly clasp with stainless steel and rose-gold combination colors. Scratch resistant mineral crystal houses and protects the dial and the movement as well.

You can also use the rose-gold coated crowns on the side to adjust the date and time. Lastly, this watch also comes with a water resistance depth of 100 m/ 330 feet.
